@futurebird Not so much a carrot as a carrette. Carrissima.
Hope it tastes good, though.
Reminds me of the great potato harvest of 2015. I got more than 1! :^D

In other words, let’s suppose that the Roberts Six somehow let stand an injunction against USPS taking over vote-from-home. I think there’s a better than even chance that USPS would ignore the injunction, and refuse to deliver ballots unless states comply with USPS’ new, unconstitutional rules. 2/
Time out, let's remember that disobeying a federal court order would mean rank and file post office employees following blatantly illegal orders from management.
Given the USPS centuries long ethos and the continued existence of a strong union, this seems highly unlikely.
Here's the union's statement on the latest TRO - https://apwu.org/news/apwu-statement-on-developments-in-vote-by-mail-executive-order/
Remember when we had to pay for SMS lol. Maybe that's why writing multiple short immediate replies, instead of 1 slightly longer reply, feels so unnatural to me

WE DID IT. WE WON. 💜✊
Wikimedia Foundation workers voted 158 YES to 14 NO: 91.9% of ballots cast, with 81% turnout.
We’re so proud of everyone who built this union, and this win belongs to our whole community. We could not have done it without the solidarity of Wikimedia volunteers.
This is just the beginning. We stand with our UK siblings in their recognition process now, and with future organizing efforts across WMF’s global workforce. 🌍

A/I's mission has always been clear, and for more than twenty years it has inspired generations of hackers and activists in Italy and around the world: "Socializzare saperi senza fondare poteri." Sharing knowledge without establishing power.
That is what the US is attacking, and that is what is at stake today.
The premise of these sanctions, that whoever provides communications infrastructure answers for whatever anyone does with it, would criminalise and shut down most Big Tech platforms tomorrow if applied equally.
Instead it is aimed at grassroots services who refuse to surveil their users.
We condemn these sanctions, and we stand firmly with solidarity tech like A/I. Antifascism and anticapitalism are not terrorism.

Goodnight my dear friends

Check out this WIRED piece capturing so much of why WWU organized: https://www.wired.com/story/wikipedia-workers-vote-on-whether-to-unionize/
WMF US workers voted 158–14 to unionize, but this was never primarily about pay or benefits. It was about something more fundamental: a seat at the table as Wikimedia navigates major organizational and technological change.
We’re proud of what our workers built, grateful for the solidarity that got us here, and ready for what's next: including standing with our UK siblings as they pursue recognition 🌍
@Satsuma @wallhackio @aschmitz @Lady Not specifying this was intentional, but thinking of "grasshopper" in the context of food I was thinking of the... dried? roasted? I don't remember, whole grasshopper---
EDIT: gosh DARN it, I meant "locust". I don't think this changes any consideration for anyone except me.
-- whole locust I was offered to eat and which a friend did,
and in the same vein as "rice" being uncooked a food-ingredient but cooked a food that we also call "rice" and we identify both of them together because there's an obvious canonical cooked form.
(Again, not mentioning that explicitly was intentional, because this is my framework of how to think of it and I didn't want to impose that on other people for their answer.)
@Satsuma @wallhackio @aschmitz @Lady Also to be clear, since I guess I can't answer my own polls --
my answer (MY answer, not "the answer I think other people should have even within my framework") to my first question is "not a food".

@beka_valentine I lived and worked there for a while. I was surprised by how many people were barely aware the place existed.
@dpiponi no one LIKES it because its hard to get to but i find it hard to believe that anyone who lives here for 4 years doesn't know where alameda is
Yeesh, looks like I turned off the household Xbox One for the last time, at just the _right_ time.
Not that we ever did much cloud gaming.
You owe it to yourself to spend the money you would otherwise use for a console on a media PC for your TV.

Uh oh. What happened in Xbox-land?
